Applicant must be an active participant of the Black Student Union and participate in Black Student Union outreach events. Applicant must write a 300-500 word essay regarding a celebrated African American who has influenced you most during your lifetime. Explain how their story and/or actions have helped you overcome diversity and obstacles as a your African American.
The recipient will receive up to $200.00 in award monies for the semester awarded. No payments are made directly to the students. The award monies may only be used for tuition, books (purchased from the MCC Bookstore) and fees (i.e., Registration, Course, Lab and Technology) for the semester awarded.
- Proof of cumulative GPA.
Applicant must complete and submit the MCC scholarship application, provide proof of residency in McHenry County resident, provide proof of a 2.00 GPA, proof that they are an active member in the Black Student Union and 300 - 500 word essay.
