Applicant must be a veteran of the US military, former or active member of the Reserves, Coast Guard or National Guard. Applicant must be a resident of McHenry County. Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of (6) credit hours for the semester awarded. Applicant must submit a 150-200 word essay outlining educational goals. Applicant is not required to have GPA average for initial scholarship. However a 2.5 GPA must be maintained to be considered for future awards.
Award monies provide up to $500 to recipient for the semester awarded. No payment will be made to the student directly. The award monies may only be used for books (purchased in the MCC Bookstore) for the semester awarded.
Applicant must submit the following documentation: MCC scholarship application with signature and date. 150-200 word essay outlining educational goals. Applicant must provide proof of US military service (DD214).
