Eligibility requirements: Applicant must complete and submit the MCC Scholarship Application. Applicant must maintain a 2.75 GPA and provide proof of GPA. Applicant must be an active participant of Pride Club. Applicant must be an active participant in Pride Club outreach events. Applicant must write a 300-500 word essay on the following: What was your contribution to making McHenry County College welcoming to LGBT students/faculty/staff/residents? Describe an occasion when you witnessed discrimination against a member of the LGBT community? Did you do anything about the situation? If so, please explain? What did you learn from the encounter?
Support provided: The recipient will receive up to $500 in award monies for the semester awarded. No payments made to students directly. The award monies may only be used for tuition, books (purchased from the MCC Bookstore) and fees (i.e., Registration, Course, Lab, and Technology) for the semester awarded.
Material to be submitted:
Applicants must submit the following documentation: MCC scholarship application with signature and date. Proof of GPA and transcript. 300-500 word essay.
