Education to Empowerment Scholarship

Eligibility requirements: Applicant must provide the following: Must be a female student or transgender student who self-identifies as a woman. Must be enrolled as a full-time student and have achieved sophomore status. Must be a resident of McHenry County. Must have a cumulative 3.25 GPA at the completion of their freshman and maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA through sophomore year. Applicant must provide a copy of the invoice from the university they have enrolled in. Applicant must submit a 300-word essay outlining their personal and career goals. Priority will be given to applicants with two semesters remaining at MCC.
Support provided: One (1) award up to $4,000 distributed throughout the recipient's sophomore year at MCC as academic expenses are incurred, one (1) award of up to $4,000 distributed in the fall semester of the recipient's junior year at an accredited 4-year College or University. No payments are made directly to students. At MCC, the award monies may only be used for tuition, books (purchased from the MCC Bookstore) and fees (i.e., Registration, Course, Lab and Technology) for the semester awarded. At the university level, up to $4,000 will be awarded to offset costs shown on the student's university invoice

Applicant must submit the following documentation: MCC scholarship application with signature and date. Proof of 3.25+ GPA and transcript. 300-word essay outlining personal and career goals. Must submit FAFSA and provide proof of financial need.
