Applicant must provide the following: Must be a female student or transgender student who self-identifies as a woman. Must be enrolled as a full-time student and have achieved sophomore status. Must be a resident of McHenry County. Must have a cumulative 3.25 GPA at the completion of their freshman and maintain a cumulative 3.25 GPA through sophomore year. Applicant must submit a 300-word essay outlining their personal and career goals and how the financial support of this scholarship will help them.
One (1) award up to $4,000 distributed throughout the recipient's sophomore year at MCC as academic expenses are incurred, one (1) award of up to $4,000 distributed in the fall semester of the recipient's junior year at an accredited 4-year College or University. Applicant must provide a copy of the invoice from the university they have enrolled in. No payments are made directly to students. At MCC, the award monies may only be used for tuition, books (purchased from the MCC Bookstore) and fees (i.e., Registration, Course, Lab and Technology) for the semester awarded.
