Eric Stricker Culinary Scholarship - Chef's Assistant Certificate

Eligibility requirements: Applicant must be enrolled at McHenry County College in the Culinary Management Program pursuing a Baking and Pastry Assistant Certificate, be enrolled in a minimum of seven (7) credit hours, enrolled in CLM 100 Introduction to Hospitality and CLM 101 Culinary Skills 1 or CLM 102 Culinary Skills II, submit a short essay describing their educational goals, past experience in and passion for cooking, demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA application, provide a letter of recommendation from an instructor and at the end of the academic year in which the award is made, the recipient will be required to attend the annual "Eric's Walk the Lake" event.
Support provided: The scholarship will provide up to $1,000 to the recipient for the semester awarded. No monies will be paid to the student directly. The award monies may be used for tuition, books (purchased from the MCC Bookstore) and/or fees (i.e., Registration, Course, Lab and Technology) for the semester awarded. An additional $1,000 will be awarded for the consecutive Spring Semester, provided the recipient maintains a grade point average of 2.5 or better. No award will be made in the consecutive Spring Semester if this provision is not met.
Material to be submitted:
Applicant must complete and submit the following: The MCC Scholarship Application form with signature and date, provide proof of enrollment in MCC Culinary Management Program, proof of seven (7) credit hours, enrollment in required CLM 100 and CLM 101 or CLM 102 courses, submit short essay, proof of FAFSA application completion and letter of recommendation.
