Joint Agreements / Chargebacks

MCC has joint educational agreements that allow District #528 residents to enroll in specified career/occupational certificate and degree programs not offered by MCC.

The largest joint agreement in which MCC participates is known as CAREER (Comprehensive Agreement Regarding the Expansion of Educational Resources). Any career program (Associate of Applied Sciences or certificate) offered at one of the following Illinois community colleges but not offered at MCC, is eligible for joint agreement:

In addition to programs offered by CAREER consortium schools, specific occupational degrees and certificates at other schools have been approved for joint agreements.

When an occupational degree or certificate is not available at MCC and no joint agreement exists, you may apply for a chargeback. Chargebacks are approved on a case-by-case basis.

Joint agreements and chargeback applications are available in Registration A258. These forms must be completed two weeks prior to the official beginning of the semester. Approved joint agreements and chargebacks are valid for one fiscal year and must be renewed every year.

Joint agreements and chargebacks are restricted to programs that result in associate's degrees or certificates and will not be approved for individual classes. Authorization is limited to one program per applicant at any time.
