Accounting/Tax Preparation

New 1. Offer in Compromise |
| An Offer in Compromise is a proposal submitted to the IRS requesting relief from a taxpayer’s full tax debt. With documentation, review, and analysis it may be possible to settle a tax debt for less than 100% of the amount owed. An Offer may be accepted by the IRS if the taxpayer can demonstrate that “equity in assets” and “disposable income” does not add up to enough for the taxpayer to full pay.
An offer in compromise allows the taxpayer to settle a tax debt for less than the full amount owed. It may be a legitimate option if the taxpayer can't pay the full tax liability, or doing so creates a financial hardship. The IRS considers a taxpayer’s unique set of facts and circumstances.
The IRS generally approves an offer in compromise when the amount offered represents the most the IRS can expect to collect within a reasonable period of time. The Offer in Compromise program is not for everyone.
Before the IRS can consider an offer, the taxpayer must be current with all filing and payment requirements. The taxpayer is not eligible if in an open bankruptcy proceeding.
This presentation is designed to provide an overview of the Offer program.

This four-hour course is a must for novice and experienced construction work zone flaggers.
Here is what your work zone crew will get:

New Illinois Home Performance - Combustion Safety Testing |
| CAZ, spillage, draft and CO. Together, these four individual tests comprise a comprehensive combustion safety test that all home performance consultants and contractors should practice. This course will cover why, when and how to perform combustion safety testing and how to ensure your personal safety while performing critical tests in homes. The course is aligned with BPI combustion safety testing standards and test-in and test-out procedures and is instructed is structured as a full day in classroom followed by an optional but highly encouraged additional 1/2 day of associated field experience. Trainer Brian Kumer will use one-of-a-kind training equipment and animated presentation in the classroom to demonstrate how to test natural draft and include draft heating equipment. Why do some draft and some do not draft? Come and find out for yourself! This session is designed for all home performance consultants, HVAC, and insulation and air sealing contractors. BPI CEU's will be available for all BPI certified professionals. |

New Illinois Home Performance - HVAC Equipment Performance Testing |
| This class will review performance testing of a home's thermal and pressure boundaries and demonstrate performance testing of forced air furnaces and duct systems. Trainer Brian Kumer will cover temperature rise and drop tests, total system air flow measuring mehtods, total static pressure test, and pressure drop across coils and air filters using test equipment most attendees already own. Locating and quantifying leaky ducts in unconditioned spaces can pose a challange in the field; the course will address this by using the blower door and pressure pan to screen ducts for leaks and duct pressure testing to quantify the leakage doing a "total duct leakage test" and "duct leakage to the outside only" test. This is an intermediate to advanced skill-level class for home performance consultants and contractors. If you are performing home performance testing in homes or have at least some experience with residential forces air systems then this class is for you. You should be able to operate a blower door and be familiar with air flow measurments. BPI CEUs will be available for all BPI certified professionals. |
