Tobacco-Free Campus Policy

To promote a safe, clean and healthy learning environment for students, employees and community patrons, McHenry County College is a tobacco-free campus environment. So, breathe a sigh of relief. Everyone can learn tobacco-free while at MCC.

MCC is a tobacco-free campus. See the Board Policy Manual for tobacco-free campus policy and tobacco-free campus procedures.

The College will enforce this policy as follows:

Violators of this policy will be referred to the appropriate administrative office for review and appropriate administrative action. Policy violations may also be subject to citations and/or fines issued by Campus Police.

  • First citation - $50
  • Second citation - $100
  • Subsequent citations may be issued in an amount of up to $250, depending on the nature of the violation.

All fines are to be paid within thirty days of the date the citation was issued. Payment should be made in the Registration Office. Failure to pay fines will result in an Academic Restriction placed on the student's record.
