Smoking Policy

To promote a safe, clean and healthy learning environment, McHenry County College prohibits smoking inside all College facilities, inside all College vehicles, and at all designated smoke-free entranceways to College facilities.

Those who wish to smoke must do so in designated outdoor smoking areas with proper ash receptacles. Smokers must properly dispose of cigarette/cigar remains in designated ash receptacles. Refusal to comply with this policy shall be met with increasingly severe penalties.

All violators shall be issued citations by the Department of Campus Safety and Security and are required to pay the following fines:

All fines are to be paid within seven days of the date the citation was issued.
