Your placement test results will identify your competency in a subject as college or developmental (pre-college) level.
Placement into developmental level provides you with the academic support you need to meet the prerequisites of college-level coursework.
If you have placed into a developmental level (pre-100 level courses such as MAT 095), it may take more than two years to complete an associate degree. We recommend that you meet with an advisor to discuss progression in developmental coursework.
See Preparing for Placement for important information about placement test review options.
Note: MCC requires photo id for all testing.
You need to allow at least the following amounts of time before the Testing Center closes to complete placement testing:
- 2 1/2 hours for the English testing (an essay and a reading comprehension section)
- 1 1/2 hours for the math exam
- 1 1/2 hours for the reading exam
- No appointment is necessary
