MCC Announces "Grow-A-Tech" Automotive Scholarship Recipients

Fifteen McHenry County College automotive students were awarded scholarships ranging from $350 to $1,100 from the "Grow-A-Tech" Automotive Scholarship program sponsored by the Automotive Service Association (ASA) of Illinois. McHenry County College (MCC) announces the 2018 “Grow-A-Tech” Automotive Scholarship recipients who will attend automotive classes at MCC next fall.

A total of $8,300 in scholarships were awarded from the Automotive Service Association (ASA) of Illinois, which includes repair industry shop owners and vendors.

Current MCC students enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program at MCC graduating seniors who plan to enroll at MCC were awarded between $350 and $1,100 each at a recent Automotive Open House at the college.

Scholarship recipients include: $1,100 scholarships: Justin Kucharski of Woodstock and Jonathan Starr of Cary; $850 scholarship: Jack Kulesza of Huntley; $600 scholarships: Ryan Andre of Huntley and Michael Zaprzalka of Lake in the Hills; Nathan Callahan of Crystal Lake and Joe Pierri of Lake in the Hills; $400 scholarship: Chris Nawrocki of Lake in the Hills; $350 scholarships: Brittany Gabard of McHenry and Brandon Arroyo of Lake in the Hills; Dmytro Kupryk of Crystal Lake; Christopher Fulkes of Crystal Lake, Andrew Dickow of Port Barrington, Erik Hertel of Fox River Grove, and Marco Velasquez of Woodstock.

Grow-a-Tech sponsors include: Revolution Gear & Axle, Automotive Seminars, Inc.; Schock’s Towing, Hunter Engineering Company, Mitchell 1, Garage Gurus, Heil & Kay Insurance, Interstate Batteries, Federated Auto Parts, Douglas Automotive, NAPA, Parts Direct, Mastertek Auto Repair, O’Reilly Auto Parts, and Bumper to Bumper, Mevotech, DuraGo Brake Rotors and BBB Alternators and Starters.
