MCC Student Artwork Selected for 2018 Skyway Juried Art Competition[Friday, March 23, 2018]
"La Grange, Missouri, a water soluble oil on canvas by Kathleen Berendt won a Blue Ribbon/Best of Show at the 2018 Skyway Art Competition.
Five MCC students had their artwork selected by the jurors for inclusion in the 2018 Skyway Art Exhibit and one student won a Blue Ribbon/Best of Show. The exhibit runs from March 25 through April 27 in the Koehnline Museum of Art at Oakton Community College. The reception and award ceremony for the artists will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 25. Oakton Community College is located at 1600 E. Golf Road in Des Plaines. The MCC student exhibitors are: Kathleen Berendt of Fox River Grove, for “La Grange, Missouri," water soluble oil on canvas, Blue Ribbon/Best of Show winner; Cary Gaspar, of Woodstock, for "Hide" Project," agate, sterling silver, rubber and, pearl; Amanda Glaser of Spring Grove, for "Untitled," archival inkjet print; Conrad Lobinsky of Capron, for "Hot Buttered," archival inkjet print; and Morgaine Polit of Crystal Lake, for "Strike A Pose," archival inkjet print.
