MCC Accepting Applications for Fall Scholarships Through May 4[Thursday, March 8, 2018]
Overwhelmed with paying for college? The Friends of McHenry County College Foundation is offering more than 125 scholarship opportunities totaling over $148,000 to help ease the financial strain, whether students qualify for federal loans or not.
The process to apply is simple—the online scholarship application platform allows students to complete one general application that automatically matches students to those scholarships for which they are eligible. The Fall 2018 scholarships vary in amount and type of award and include those based on merit and/or program of study. Scholarship amounts range from $250 to $2,000 and can cover part or all of a student’s tuition, books and fees.
In addition to several general scholarships available, other specialized scholarships are available in: Accounting, Anthropology, Art, Athletics, Business, Construction Management, Culinary, Cultural Diversity, Education/Early Childhood Education, First Generation, FIT Fitness Instructor Training, GED, General, Healthcare, Horticulture/Plant Science, Humanities, Journalism/Writing, Manufacturing/Engineering, Music, Nursing, Special Needs, STEM, Veterans and Women in College. Many students think they need to be a straight-A student, but that isn’t the case.
A description of all the scholarships and the online application as well as “Tips for a Successful Scholarship Application” are available at www.mchenry.edu/scholarships. Deadline to apply for the Fall 2018 scholarships is Friday, May 4.
