[Wednesday, January 24, 2018]

Turn your love of writing into something great. Learn how to transform your hobby into becoming a legitimate writer with a Be a Serious Writer, a new non-credit class offered by McHenry County College’s (MCC) Continuing Education Department.

Be a Serious Writer will teach people how to take their writing as a hobby for personal fulfillment to a new level by learning how to become a serious writer and share their work with others. Participants will learn how to structure their writing, how to improve efficiency, the pros and cons of self-publishing versus traditional publishing, and the elements of an author’s platform. Also included is the opportunity to participate in on-line and group critiques. This class meets every other week to allow time to practice the areas covered in class. This class takes place from 7-8:50 p.m. every other Wednesday beginning Feb. 7 through April 18 in Room C118 at MCC.

Cost is $49. To register for this class, use course code: NWT S52 001.
