MCC's Retired Adult Program to Host Adler Planetarium Guest Speaker

Join McHenry County College’s Retired Adult Program (RAP), and hear Adler Planetarium's Michelle Nichols talk about two groundbreaking and trending topics, including Mars and other planet discoveries. RAP is membership is $25 a year and exclusively for those age 50 and better.

The following presentations are available:

Looking for Earth Elsewhere: Over 5,000 planets, surrounding other stars, have been discovered. One of the most important questions is, are there any like Earth? Michelle Nichols, master educator for the Adler Planetarium, will highlight the search for planets around other stars. Hear about the most recent findings about planets that might be just like our own home. Class takes place at 10 a.m. Sept. 21 in the Luecht Conference Center. Cost is $12. Roving the Red Planet: There are currently five U.S. spacecraft either on or orbiting Mars. What have we learned about the Red Planet with this robotic fleet? Michelle Nichols, master educator for the Adler Planetarium will talk about the past, present, and future of Martian exploration and what it means to our civilization. Class takes place at 1 p.m. Sept 21 in the Luecht Conference Center. Cost is $12. Use course code: NRA S94 003 to register.
