MCC Seeks Presenters, Exhibitors for Fall Child's World Conference[Tuesday, July 18, 2017]
McHenry County College seeks workshop presenters and exhibitors for the 2017 Practical Ideas for the Child's World conference from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 in the Building B Commons area at the college, located at 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake.
This 29th annual symposium is McHenry County's leading event on benchmarking early childhood best practices. The event attracts approximately 250 early childhood educators, directors and childcare providers from northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. The keynote speaker will be Carole Stephens, a nationally renowned early childhood music specialist. Through her "Macaroni Soup!" program, she has been providing award-winning musical education and entertainment for 25 years for children through age 12.
Workshops are 1.25 hours in length and are geared to those who work with young children (infants through age eight). Past participants have indicated specific interest in workshops on classroom management, special needs and hands-on activities in science, math, art, language and large motor areas. The 2016 conference attracted more than 200 participants from northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
Exhibitors are also wanted. Fees are $50 for the first table; $35 for each additional table. To register as a presenter or exhibitor, visit www.mchenry.edu/childsworld. Registration deadline is July 25 for presenters and Oct. 27 for exhibitors.
