Pet-Care Classes Available at McHenry County College[Thursday, June 1, 2017]
Learn how to best care for your pet and pet life-saving techniques with two separate classes this summer offered by McHenry County College’s Continuing Education Department.
The following class is available:
Knowing Your Pet’s Health: A Dog and Cat Wellness Workshop: Learn the “snout-to-tail” pet assessment, and how to check your pet’s vital signs and learn how to identify what is “not normal” for your dog or cat. The class will cover optimal healthy lifestyles, including why the ingredients in pet food matters and how to add some enriching activities to your pet’s daily life. Leave your pets at home. Class takes place from 7-8:50 p.m. Thursday, June 15 in Room A103. Cost is $29. Use course code: NAN S18 002 when registering.
Pet CPR, First Aid, and Care: An important part of being a caring, conscientious, responsible and loving pet parent or pet-care professional is knowing the lifesaving skills of pet first aid and care. Learn how to respond to pet health emergencies in this Pet Tech (largest international pet first aid training organization) first aid class. Participants will learn by lecture, demonstrations, and hands-on skill practice, how to perform pet CPR, rescue breathing, and choking management. How to check a pet’s vital signs and other pet care is included. Class includes a handbook and a completion certificate valid for two years. Class is appropriate for both pet owners and pet-care professionals. Leave your pets at home. Class takes place from 6:30-9:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 18 and Thursday, July 20 in Room A103. Cost is $99.
