MCC to Offer Spring Classes for Moms, Nature Lovers, Everyday Oil Enthusiasts[Tuesday, May 2, 2017]
McHenry County College’s Continuing Education Department is offering classes that mom will love, including platter painting, a wildflower walk and introduction to essential oils. Enjoy a special class together.
Registration is underway for the following classes:
Mother’s Day Platter: Treat yourself to a special Mother’s Day gift for yourself or someone you love. Design your very own serving piece for that special dinner or holiday. Design and paint a beautiful 10-inch diameter plate, which doubles as an extra-large dinner plate or serving platter. Bring your choice of beverage and snack to enjoy this evening out with a friend or family member. Great mother/daughter night out. All materials included. Class takes place from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, May 5 at Handmade on Main, 320 S. Main Street in Algonquin. Cost is $39. Use course code: NCF S93 001 to register.
Spring Wildflowers of McHenry County: Join the Land Conservancy on a wildflower identification walk. Stroll through a high-quality woodland and learn a little about each one of these flowers and how to tell them apart. Meet in the parking lot at Ryder’s Woods Park. This class takes place 9-10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 14 in Ryder’s Woods, 651 Kimball Ave. in Woodstock. Cost is $7. Use course code: NPG S35 002 to register.
Introduction to Everyday Oils: Delve into the history of essential oils and how they were used throughout the ages. We’ll also go over how, when, and why to use essential oils to enhance your everyday life. Participants will receive handouts about how to use the oils at home. This class will include a Zyto Compass scan, which helps take out the guesswork out of finding the right essential oils and supplements your body needs to balance. Class takes place from 6-7:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 in Room A103. The cost is $25. Use course code: NHE S45 008 to register.
