MCC to Offer Introductory Class Featuring Drones[Tuesday, May 2, 2017]
Those who own a drone or plan to purchase one, learn how to safely maneuver a drone and the regulations behind operating one with an Introduction to Drones class offered by McHenry County College’s Continuing Education Department from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday, May 11 in Room A103.
Drones represent the most dynamic portion of the aviation industry today. Americans are purchasing more drones on a daily basis than automobiles, which represents new safety hazards in the air and on the ground.
Recently, the FAA has issued new regulations to ensure the safe operation of drones. It is the responsibility of each drone pilot to be aware of these rules to avoid accidents and costly penalties. This class gives an overview of drone functions, the Federal Aviation regulations pertaining to drone operations, and an opportunity to ask questions.
Cost is $25. Use course code: NBR S21 002 to register. To register, call the MCC Registration Office at (815) 455-8588 or register online at www.mchenry.edu/myMCC. For more information, call Tracy Berry at (815) 455-8758.
