Four McHenry County College full-time faculty members completed a three-year probationary period and recently received tenure status. While faculty members benefit from job security at MCC for the rest of their careers, students benefit from the depth of knowledge, teaching excellence, personal qualities and commitment to service these instructors bring to the college.
The newly tenured MCC faculty include: Cheryl Eno, nursing instructor of McHenry; Nathan Kivley, automotive technology instructor of McHenry; Elizabeth Nelson, catalog and collection development librarian of Woodstock; and Jim Stockwell, film and broadcast journalism instructor of Johnsburg.
The instructors are evaluated in four major areas including academic preparation, teaching effectiveness, contributions to the college community and participation in community service. The instructors also prepared an extensive teaching portfolio.
Chris Gray, Ph.D., vice president of Academic and Student Affairs, said “I congratulate these fine faculty members on their outstanding teaching and admirable commitment to our students. We look forward to their significant contributions to the college in the years ahead.”
