Join MCC at its Inaugural Small Business Fair[Wednesday, April 5, 2017]
McHenry County College (MCC) will host a Small Business Fair for the first time from 8-11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2 in the MCC Gym/Multipurpose Room at the college, located at 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake.
The Small Business Fair offers something for everyone -- students and community members can learn about various business opportunities in the direct sales industry and small business owners can receive resources and tools to help them become more successful.
“Many small business owners have their first entrepreneurial experience in direct sales,” said Sherry Ridge, MCC business instructor and chairperson of the small business fair. “We are excited to offer this event to our students and community members. This has been a joint effort to promote and educate everyone about the county’s small business opportunities in the direct sales industry.”
In addition, anyone interested in becoming entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to speak with experts on how to start, market and operate a small business. In a professional exchange format, attendees can learn about small business operations, including accounting, business law, commercial banking, marketing, and graphic arts. The Small Business Development Center will be available to answer questions and to provide resources for those looking to start a business.
The fair is free for attendees. The Small Business Fair is sponsored by the McHenry County College Business Department, the McHenry County College Career Services Department and the SBDC at the MCC Shah Center.
