MCC to Offer DIY Electrical Wiring and Repair Class[Friday, February 3, 2017]
Are you considering some home improvements to your home this spring? Experience the pride of completing some of those projects yourself by taking a Do-It-Yourself Electrical Wiring & Repair class at McHenry County College. The class takes place from 6-8:50 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays Feb. 7-23 in Room A142.
Learn about various types of common switches and how to correctly wire those switches, plus how to troubleshoot and wire home receptacles and lighting fixtures. The instructor will discuss what type of electrical tools are needed for routine repairs and how to safely use those tools. Information on basic home electrical principles will be included, which will provide a good foundation toward understanding techniques for troubleshooting switches, receptacles and lighting fixtures.
