MCC to Offer Trip Previews for 2017 Extended Trips[Thursday, January 26, 2017]
Looking to get away? Make 2017 your year of travel and fun. Find out about six exciting trips offered by the McHenry County College (MCC) Trips and Tours program at trip previews on Feb. 1 and 2 at MCC.
The following trip previews are available:
Cape Cod and the 100th Birthday of President John F. Kennedy: Experience the favorite places of John F. Kennedy, who was our 35th President. He was born on May 29, 1917, and Cape Cod was his favorite retreat. “I come to the Cape when I have a tough decision to make.” –JFK. This trip takes place on May 21-25, and the trip preview is presented from 3-4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2 in Room A103 at MCC.
Canada’s 150th Birthday 2017 French Canada Ontario & Quebec: Celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canadian Independence on this French Canadian Tour. Beautiful scenery and sights await as we take you to Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec Provinces. Trip takes place on July 23-29, and the trip preview is presented from 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in Room A103 at MCC.
Iceland—Land of Fire and Ice: Experience unique Iceland, a fabulous destination that offers pristine nature, boasting geysers, geothermal pools, waterfalls and wildlife, breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture deeply rooted in ancient heritage. Trip takes place on July 26-31, and the trip preview is presented from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1 in Room A242.
Colorado’s Historic Trains, featuring Five Scenic Excursions and Three National Parks: Follow the historic routes of the Old West with excursions on five different railroads. Then see the amazing rock formations and natural beauty of three national parks. Trip takes place on August 11-19, and the trip preview is presented from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, in Room A242.
Noah’s Ark Encounter, featuring Two Nights at the Belterra Casino: Nestled in the Indiana heartland is Belterra Casino Resort & Spa, featuring two nights in this oasis of luxury with buffet meals and non-stop action in its exciting casino. A guided tour of the Sisters of St. Francis Oldenburg convent is featured, where you’ll learn about everyday convent life and hear about the sisters’ impact on the community. The highlight of the day is the new Ark Encounter. This full-sized, all wood replica of Noah’s Ark presents a number of historical events centered on this one-of-a-kind historically themed attraction. It is designed to be family oriented, historically authentic, and is the largest timber frame structure in the country. Trip also includes a visit to the Creation Museum, a state-of-the-art museum which brings the pages of the Bible to life through the retelling of its stories. Trip takes place on October 15-17, and the trip preview is presented from 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1 in Room A242.
Christmas Market Cruise on the Danube: Enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Danube, Europe’s most popular river. Travel onboard an exclusively chartered ship exploring the wonderful Christmas markets of Germany and Austria. Trip takes place on December 5-12, and the trip preview is presented from 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, in Room A242.
