Learn how to prepare a special meal for your sweetheart on or take a class together with two Valentine-themed culinary classes offered by McHenry County College's Continuing Education Department.
The following classes are available:
Recipe for Romance: Valentine's Day Cooking. Featuring a fun afternoon of learning new cooking skills that will heat up your kitchen. Chef Santiago will teach you how to make a delicious Valentine's Day meal including classic beef wellington, puff pastry, spinach with a red wine sauce and decadent flour-less chocolate cake for dessert. Class fee is per person and includes lunch. Class takes place from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the 1776 Restaurant in Crystal Lake. Cost is $65 per person and includes lunch. Date Night: Grab someone special for an evening of cooking and romance just in time for Valentine's Day. Working alongside your date, our instructor will walk you through a new way to celebrate the holiday in gourmet style—with a lavish feast prepared by you and your Valentine. This menu is built around dishes designed to inspire passion, so you'll see they are perfect for family meals, date nights at home, and much more throughout the year too. Class takes place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake. Cost is $65 per person. Use course ID: NCU S36 003 when registering.
