ISBDC Announces New Seminars for February

Find out how to measure your social media campaigns or learn how to conduct market research with two new seminars offered by the Illinois Small Business Development Center in February. For those thinking about starting a business, other popular seminars feature such topics as what is needed to start a business or how to create a business plan.

Registration is underway for the following seminars in February:

Tuesday, February 4

6 to 8 p.m.

Starting A Business In Illinois: This two hour seminar is beneficial for pre-venture entrepreneurs considering starting a business in Illinois. Multiple aspects of business ownership will be discussed, including the legal aspects of starting a business in Illinois and the importance of your business plan. A listing of agencies that support small businesses will also be provided. Fee: $25.

Wednesday, February 5

6 to 8 p.m.

Measuring Social Media Results: How do you know if your social media campaigns are working? Businesses want healthy response and results for their marketing hour and dollar investments. In this session we will cover capturing, measuring and using results of social media marketing to improve and deploy for better results. Fee: $35.

Tuesday, February 18

6 to 8 p.m.

Business Planning Essentials: Whether your business is going out for capital or is simply looking to drive a greater margin, a business plan is essential. Learn what to include in a good business plan and the method to project your cash flow. Learn what to include in the narrative and financials achieving your company’s goals and objectives. Find out what your banker feels is crucial for your business plan. Fee: $35.

Wednesday, February 26

6 to 8 p.m.

Market Research for Small Business: Marketplaces are dynamic—constantly changing. Is your marketplace shrinking, stable, or growing? Market research can help you answer these questions. This features a hands-on approach to market research will help business owners know more about their industry, customers, and competition, to compete effectively. Fee: $35.
