[Tuesday, June 25, 2013]
McHenry County College (MCC) faculty members and area high school instructors participated in a Common Core Standards workshop to discuss secondary and postsecondary course content of English, math and science. The partnership between high school and college instructors is an effort to better prepare high school students for core subjects (English, math and science) in college. Seventy-five college and high school instructors attended the workshop, hosted by MCC and Woodstock High School District 200. Keynote speaker was Mary O’Brian, director of assessment for the Illinois State Board of Education.
