I’m Iris Bryan, and I invite you to join me in the next year’s celebration of the college’s 40th anniversary.
We have planned an entire year of festivities for you to enjoy beginning with our community open house kick-off on Sunday, April 15th, followed by a family picnic and arts festival in mid-July. In September, we’ll celebrate the official opening of the college doors to students with a commemorative event.
Your involvement will help make this anniversary year one to remember.
We are searching for those of you who attended or worked at the college in the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s. Please share with us your memories from the college’s early days, and help us identify people featured in our archival photos.
In my next installment I’ll discuss the founding of the college and the trials and tribulations of forming an institution now recognized locally, nationally and internationally.
Please contact Pat Kriegermeier at (815)455-8562 if you would like to help with this important project.
This is Iris Bryan, the voice of McHenry County College history. I’ll have more for you real soon.
