There are many different periodical databases available from the Library web site.  How do you decide which one to use?  Often your choice will depend on the topic you are researching.  Some periodical databases cover a specific subject like education or psychology.  Your choice might also depend on the type of source you want to find.  There are periodical databases that include only newspapers, for example.

The MCC Reference Librarians created Databases by Subject that organizes the periodical databases by either the subject or format they cover.  If you can't find an index that fits your topic or format, pick one of the general article databases.  They work for just about any topic and include a mix of magazines, newspapers, and journals.

Also, you might want to try more than one database when researching your topic.  Although some of the content may overlap, there will also be unique sources in each of the databases.

Here is more information on navigating around an article database.
