Reference Sources are not always books.  They can also be databases and online resources.  The MCC Library subscribes to several online reference databases.

There are quite a number of reference databases available covering a wide range of topics.  For some of these, we also own the print versions.  Some examples of these include Oxford Art Online, Oxford Music Online, the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy, and the Oxford English Dictionary.  You access these databases from off-campus using the Off Campus Access Menu and the username and password (8 digit student ID and network password) you use when logging on to campus computers.

Many reference databases take advantage of the online format and incorporate  articles from periodicals, web sites, images, statistics, and internal links between documents.  This is in addition to the information typically covered in these sources.  These resources provide full-text information.
