President/Board NewsJuly Board HighlightsSubmitted By kplinske@mchenry.edu 7/27/2009 5:55:25 PM Phone: 8694 Our Trustees met on Thursday, July 23, for their Regular July Board meeting. The link below will take you to the monthly Board highlights memo on InsideMCC. Back to topVantage is live!Submitted By kplinske@mchenry.edu 7/1/2009 2:15:34 AM Phone: 8694 Today a significant portion of our new ERP system is live! CampusVantage - the human resources, payroll, and finance module of our new ERP - is officially up and running.
As we've indicated in past emails, most of us won't immediately notice a difference in day-to-day operations. The individuals most directly affected by this transition are those in the finance and human resources offices, as well as those who process invoices. For the rest of us, we should continue submitting paper absence slips, paper POP forms, and paper timecards. If you have used the AAA or DADLST functionality in NXView, or the Accounting Database, you will not be able to access FY2010 budget information this way. A number of trainings have been set up for budget managers during the weeks of July 8 and July 15 to help you learn how to review your budget in Vantage.
Also, beginning with the July 9 payroll, you'll notice a new format to your advice of credit. We're hopeful that you'll find the new format more user-friendly with clearer descriptions of your pay and deductions. We'll be anxious to hear your feedback and suggestions for improvement. Kudos to all who have been involved in this portion of the ERP conversion, including Human Resources, the Business Office, the Business Services Office, Computing Services and the IT staff for doing an incredible job of supporting the College through this transition!
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Professional DevelopmentHumanities Teaching Development FellowshipSubmitted By csobolak@mchenry.edu 7/15/2009 4:53:52 PM Phone: 7538 The National Endowment for the Humanities Teaching Development Fellowships (TDF) support college and university teachers pursuing research aimed specifically at improving their undergraduate teaching. Teaching Development Fellowships cover periods lasting from three to five months and carry stipends of $4,200 per month. Thus the maximum stipend is $21,000 for a five-month award period. The program has three broad goals: 1) to improve the quality of humanities education in the United States; 2) to strengthen the link between research and teaching in the humanities; and 3) to foster excellence in undergraduate instruction. Projects must improve an existing undergraduate course that has been taught in at least THREE different terms and will continue to be taught by the applicant. Research in any area of the humanities is welcome. The deadline is October 1, 2009.

At this session, you will participate in a dialogue with other college employees AND engage in group discussion/work with community members. For Your Information-Updates on the MCC PromiseSubmitted By chaggerty@mchenry.edu 7/24/2009 5:04:40 PM Phone: 8727 We recently made some updates to the MCC Promise pages on our website. Please see language below, and make sure you're familiar with these requirements. You may direct anyone with questions to the Registration Office. Thank you! Haven’t Submitted Your FAFSA? The deadline for FAFSA paperwork was July 15. Any FAFSA completed and filed after July 15 will take a minimum of four weeks to process. Your MCC Promise award letter will only be mailed after your FAFSA and MCC Promise application have been completed without errors. Due to processing time and need for accuracy, there is no guarantee that applications received after July 15 will be processed in time for the fall 2009 semester. All students wishing to apply MCC Promise to the fall 2009 semester must have their MCC Promise application handed in NO LATER THAN the first day of fall classes- August 21, 2009. Students are solely responsible for meeting all deadlines. Missed the Cutoff for Fall 2009? If you missed deadlines to receive the MCC Promise for the fall 2009 semester, be sure to complete all paperwork now to secure your MCC Promise for spring 2010. Spring semester deadline for FAFSA is: October 1, 2009. Based on the criteria set for the MCC Promise, students are only eligible to receive the MCC Promise within one semester of graduating from their in-district high school. Therefore, early high school graduates from January 2009 will no longer be eligible for the MCC Promise as of spring 2010 semester.

My parents are in their 70's and Dad wears lounging clothes, sweat suits size 3x or 2x (if big). Size 11 shoes, any sports shirts that are 3X. Mom wears a 16 Petite and a ladies xl blouse. She likes comfy clothes also. Size 8B Wide shoes. Anything in donations I would be happy to pick up and any gift cards could be forward to me at A210 or to the McHenry Savings Bank. Free Lamp!Submitted By lpower@mchenry.edu 7/27/2009 12:04:55 PM Phone: xt. 7533 I've got a lovely glass and metal two-bulb table lamp in my office for anyone who'd like it. The shade itself is metal (tin or brass?) with a subtle design, and the body is made of blue-tinted swirled glass eggs. The thing is, though, that it smells a bit like recently blown-out birthday candles when it's lit for more than a few minutes, so it's likely that it needs a bit of rewiring. But, for those handy-andies out there, or anyone else who'd like to take a chance, it's here for the first caller, e-mailer, or stopper-by! Laura Power, xt. 7533, A377
