Insurance Information

Submitted By wkuhlin@mchenry.edu  6/16/2009 6:12:28 PM

Phone: 815-455-8577

There are two frequently asked questions regarding the insurance open enrollment that I would like to answer for you.

Question: If I am not making any changes, do I need to fill out any paperwork? Answer: If you are not making changes, you do not need to fill out any paperwork. Basically, you only need to fill out paperwork if you wish to add or drop dependents, change from Plan 1 to Plan 2 or vice versa, or if you wish to add a benefit you did not previously have such as if you would like to add visual or dental insurance that you had previously waived.

Question: If I am already enrolled in the dental plan with Group Administrators, do I need to fill out an enrollment form for Delta Dental? Answer: No. If you are already enrolled in our current dental plan, you will automatically be enrolled in Delta Dental as of July 1, 2009. You will receive a welcome packet through campus mail that explains how to access Delta Dental's website to locate a dentist, as well as answer frequently asked questions about their benefits. Again, you only need to fill out the enrollment form if you are adding or dropping dependents or if you wish to add or drop your dental coverage.

ERP Conversion - July 1

Submitted By kplinske@mchenry.edu  6/15/2009 7:33:18 AM

Phone: 8694

MCC is planning to launch Campus Vantage, a module of our new ERP software, on July 1. This software module will support the College's financial, purchasing, payroll, and human resources process.

On July 1, most employees won't notice the change. All of us will continue (for the time being) to submit paper POP forms for purchases, will submit paper forms to HR (including absence forms), and will submit paper timecards (if you currently use a timecard). However, if you are a budget manager and use the AAA screen in NXView, or the Accounting Database, you will need to access your budget information differently. Training will be offered in early July on how to access budget information in Vantage.

If you work in a department other than the Finance Office or Human Resources and currently use NXView for processes related to finance, purchases, or personnel, please email me with any questions you may have about performing these processes after July 1 on Vantage. Or, if you have any questions at all about the conversion, please don't hesitate to email me.

Employ-E-Newsletter Now Twice a Week

Submitted By dbieschk@mchenry.edu  6/5/2009 1:08:05 PM

Phone: x8728

The items in today’s Employ-E-Newsletter are repeated from Friday’s issue as a special courtesy because beginning today, this newsletter will be offered twice a week—Monday and Wednesday mornings, instead of Friday afternoons.

The Employ-E-Newsletter will be sent automatically to all employees at 8 a.m. on both Monday and Wednesday. If you want an item to run on both days, you will need to submit the information separately for each newsletter (or just copy and paste from the prior edition). Items will appear in the newsletter as long as they are submitted before 7:45 a.m. on Monday or Wednesday. Also, check out our new look with larger font size and a screened border. Another recent improvement was adding a link for archive searches on insideMCC.

We hope the Monday/Wednesday format will better serve your needs. We welcome your suggestions and will conduct another campus-wide survey in October. If you have any difficulty submitting an item, adding a link or reading the newsletter, please contact Hua Liu at ext. 7567 or hliu@mchenry.edu.

As part of an Americorps project, students are trying to create a mosiac. They are in need of tiles - smashed or whole. They are not picky and will take anything.

Please contact Talia K. @ x8772 or email tkoronkiewicz@mchenry.edu if you are able to donate! Thanks.

It takes a whole college to raise a program. So many to thank. So here goes, in no particular order: Registration and Business office-Thanks for making a round peg fit in a square hole. Trips and Tours did not fit in most of MCC's standard procedures but you made it fit. Bookstore-Not only is it a great place to shop when I just needed to shop, but you came through when I needed goodies for the trips and previews. You always worked with me and kept me in my budget. Cafeteria -How many times did I come in and say, what should I serve for a preview? And you always came up with good ideas. Copy Center- How many times did I ask you to run copies (at the last minute) of maps, information, letters and of course the famous Educational Packet. Thanks for picking out colors for me. You came through with your expertise and help. You sure made me look good.

Thanks to the Mail Room for getting out those registrations to tour companies, sneak peeks, and all the other thousands of mailings. Hey, where are my boxes??? And always having a smile on your face. Where can you work where you can send out personal stuff. Unbelievable and GREAT. Thanks to the Library for not only finding terrific books for me to read, but also finding good “educational” films for me to show on the tours. Wow, made me look pretty smart! Thanks Steve Kormanak for leaving the lights on. Thanks to Security for keeping us safe. Thanks to everyone at MCC for everything. I don’t know how else to express what you all have meant to me.

Since I can't say this at my retirement ceremony,I have to use this vehicle for all my thank you's. So Thank you Ann, for helping me out. When I just couldn't go to another Fireside Christmas, when I was sick and couldn't get on that bus, when I had surgery and no back up in the office or when I was bus sick (really) and you walked up and down the aisle for me, when I needed an extra hand to find my phone, my pen, my class list, my purse. You were there cool and calm. You even knew how to count the empty seats on the bus. And we both know, two heads are better than one. I'll never forget our biggest challenge, a smirky airline attendant saying, Sorry, flight is full. I knew if I had to stay in Italy, I was not alone! So many adventures and I thank you for "getting" what trips and tours was all about.

To Continuing Ed - The Wind Beneath My Wings

Thanks to the wonderful department I have had the privilege of working in - Continuing Ed. Thanks for supporting me in the trips program when I often felt unsupported! Thanks for listening to the problems I've encountered (sometimes they were wild). Often I would come back from a tour and there you all were. A shoulder to cry on or a hug for the triumphs. You've been a part of my life for many, many years, personally and professionally. I value your friendship and all the laughs we've had together. When I think of all the wonderful places I've been, the sights I've seen, the FOOD I've tasted, the thing I will remember and miss the most of MCC - are all of you. I've been so lucky to have all you for my friends! You truly are the Wind Beneath My Wings From: The Legend in Her Own Mind
