Employ-E-Newsletter to Deliver Twice a Week

Submitted By dbieschk@mchenry.edu  5/29/2009 10:11:30 AM

Phone: x8728

Watch for the Employ-E-Newsletter twice a week starting June 8! The Internal Communications Action Team has reviewed results from the 2009 Faculty-Staff survey and will make some changes to the Employ-E-Newsletter to better meet your needs. First, employees will have an additional opportunity to submit items because we’re offering the newsletter twice a week. Starting June 8th the newsletter will be delivered Monday and Wednesday mornings. This will replace the current Friday afternoon distribution.

The Employ-E-Newsletter will be sent automatically to all employees at 8 a.m. on both Monday and Wednesday. If you want an item to run on both days, you will need to submit the information separately for each newsletter (or just copy and paste from the prior edition). Items will appear in the newsletter as long as they are submitted before 7:45 a.m. on Monday or Wednesday. In addition to the new distribution dates and frequency, we will also make some minor changes to the newsletter’s appearance. Another recent improvement was adding a link for archive searches on insideMCC.

We hope the Monday/Wednesday format will better serve your needs. We welcome your suggestions and will conduct another campus-wide survey in October. If you have any difficulty submitting an item, adding a link or reading the newsletter, please contact Hua Liu at ext. 7567 or hliu@mchenry.edu.

I live on a farm and people drop off their animals all the time. This week someone dropped off a male jack russell mix. He seems to be about 6 years old. He is very friendly and likes other dogs. I do not want to call animal control but I cannot keep him. We also have a long hair gray female cat someone abandoned. She is spayed but has all her claws. She doesn't like other cats or dogs but will tolerate them. If you know of someone who might be interested, please contact me.

What's MY favorite cookbook?

Submitted By mmatthei@mchenry.edu  5/8/2009 9:41:43 AM

The Psuedo Gourmet by Paula Lauer, of course! My friend, Marie, gave me a copy for my birthday. I subsequently purchased two more--one for each of my daughters. I love the humor included on every page. I hate to cook (but love to BAKE) and she makes meal-preparing much easier and more fun. I would highly recommend purchasing this book. The fact that she signs the book makes it that much more personal.
