Travel Club NewsSubmitted By abyer@mchenry.edu 1/29/2009 5:26:50 PM Phone: 815.690.3651 Dear Friends, The attachment with this letter will be sent out to students. Please read it; we need your help! You will find the fantastic list of events we have planned for this year: in addition to February's Thai restaurant, we have added India Curry House in Algonquin and Kobe Japanese Steakhouse (special menus, negotiated prices). We hope to see many of you (and your friends and family) at these events. But here's the catch: We need you to advertise our club in your classrooms (art and photography, music, history, language classes, geography...heck, maybe even math--how many euros does it take to bail out a bank?) and remind students of the value of foreign travel to their lives. This club hopes to share a love of travel, give students an opportunity to focus in on which part of the world they'd like to see, and teach them how to get there--how to travel as cheaply and safely as possible. Please help us to succeed! Amy

AQIP/Action TeamsNeed Your Input: Systems Portfolio Category 4Submitted By kplinske@mchenry.edu 1/9/2009 8:47:13 AM Phone: 8694 Last year we asked you for your input regarding Category 4-Valuing People of our AQIP Systems Portfolio. A group of your colleagues (Bob Whittaker, Shenethia Manuel, Paul Hamill, Thomas Takayama, Pat Stejskal, and Phyllis Holdaway) reviewed all of the input that you submitted, and outlined responses to each of the questions included in Category 4 based on your input. We are pleased to report that MCC now has completed a draft of our Category 4 responses. The next step in the process is for you to review the draft, and provide feedback and suggestions. All input is welcome – we need to hear from you if something doesn’t make sense, if something is unclear, if something is incomplete, if something appears inaccurate, etc. We’d also like to hear from you if you think a response provides a clear documentation of “the way things work” at MCC. <p> For your convenience, there are three methods for you to provide input: <p> 1) Review MCC’s draft of Category 4 online at <a href="http://systemsportfolio.blogspot.com">http://systemsportfolio.blogspot.com</a> You can anonymously submit feedback regarding each response online by simply clicking the “Comments” link below each response. 2) Review MCC’s draft of Category 4 in print format online <a href="http://www.insidemcc.mchenry.edu/systemsportfolio/4/Category4Draft.pdf">here</a>. You can submit feedback to me regarding any of the responses via email at kplinske@mchenry.edu Or, you can write your feedback directly on the print copy, and send it via interoffice mail to Kathleen Plinske. <p> Faculty, staff, administrators – part-time and full-time – we need your feedback and input! This draft would not have been possible had it not been for your thoughtful input last year, and before finalizing this draft, we need to hear from you by <b>January 30</b>. Please feel free to share your comments and honest feedback, and don’t hesitate to mention that something looks inaccurate or incomplete. Your input will help to make our Systems Portfolio even stronger.
