Title: Evening Secretary/Faculty Office C / Part-time

Work Year:
While classes are in session - fall, spring, intersession and summer sessions.
Work Week:
20 hrs; Monday - Thursday 3:30 PM - 8:30 PM. when classes are in session - fall, spring, intersession, and summer semesters.Additional hours may be required.
Primary Purpose:
To provide confidential secretarial and receptionist support to the faculty in Building C.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Word processing of tests, course outlines, syllabi, reports, course proposals, handouts, letters, memos, and other instructional materials for full and part-time faculty.
  • Extract information as needed by faculty from computer mainframe system.
  • Assist with inputting syllabi into the e-syllabi database, as needed.
  • Copy materials in accordance with College policy.
  • Assist in maintenance of the faculty filing system, Building C form file, mail system for Building C, and identified bulletin boards.
  • Make telephone calls to students and faculty.
  • Fax materials as requested.
  • Post class cancellations and notify switchboard, Executive Deans, and students.
  • Alert day-time secretary regarding faculty supply requests.
  • Coordinate audio-visual equipment requests.
  • Assist with the coordination of work with full-time secretary.
  • Update faculty schedules and office hours.
  • Provide secretarial support for Social Sciences and Humanities faculty/Children’s Learning Center staff in Building C.
  • Coordinate the permit-to-register forms.
  • Provide back-up for full-time secretary for vacations and illnesses, if needed.
  • Proofread faculty tests.
  • Additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Supervision:
Under supervision of the Executive Dean for Education and Social Sciences. Receives daily instruction from faculty members/Children’s Learning Center staff in Building C.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent. Certificate in Administrative Office Management, or related area, or an Associate's Degree preferred.
Experience:
Two years in related area.

  • Computer skills required. Microsoft Office, Word, & Excel preferred.

Minimum Salary Range:
$11.03 Hourly
