Green Living Expo

Learn about the latest in sustainable living, get ideas for energy saving, shop for green gifts, and take in fun, educational exhibits. Tour a fully decorated tiny house, test drive an electric car, and check out super mileage and solar cars. You can also win Blackhawk’s tickets or a Nissan Leaf™ rental for the weekend of your choice!

Eco-friendly Idea and Tool Sharing Tent

So you’ve researched an ecofriendly idea or tool. Then you bought it or made it yourself. Come and share the pros and cons of your work a the Idea and Tool Sharing Tent. Stay for an hour or stay for the whole Expo. Please feel free to bring the items with you, and a Liaison will be present while you enjoy the expo. Examples: EGO and Black and Decker rechargeable yard tools including a mower, string trimmer, blower, chainsaw and snowblower.

Please also bring patience as we are expecting a high number of cars.

What will be accepted that day

  • Fluorescent tubes ($.50 to $1 each)
  • Batteries (household, rechargeable, car, and button—$.50 per pound of household batteries.)
  • Packing peanuts (no other Styrofoam at this time.)
  • Re-useable bubble wrap
  • Electronics—televisions, computers, phones, printers, electronic toys, microwaves, etc.( $.50 per pound, up to maximum of $40 per item, to recycle TVs and computer monitors)
  • VHS and cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs
