Register for Testing

Take your GED test on two consecutive weeks

  • Tuesday or Saturday mornings at 7:30 a.m. or
  • Wednesday evenings at 5 p.m.

The first appointment covers language/writing and math.

The second appointment covers science, social studies and reading.

Register at the McHenry County Regional Office of Education (667 Ware Road, Suite 207) in Woodstock. Call (815) 334-4475 for more information.

To register you will need to:

  • Pay the $50 fee prior to testing
  • Present two forms of identification
    • one with photo and signature
    • one with your name and address, such as a utility bill

They will give you a copy of your application and a demographics book. Fill out the demographics book before coming to MCC.

Schedule Your Test

Bring the copy of your application and completed demographic book to the Testing Center in A245 at MCC on Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., or Saturday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Once you turn in these items, you may make an appointment for your tests.

On the Day of the Test

  • Be early. No one will be allowed in the room late.
  • Bring a signed government photo I.D. such as a driver’s license or a State I.D. No one will be allowed to test without proper identification.
  • Report to the Testing Center in A245.
  • Testing begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays.
