| An introduction to the principles and applications of cartography, global positioning systems and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Physical, environmental, and social data are organized and manipulated using computer-generated mapping that illustrates the interdisciplinary nature of GIS and its relevance to contemporary society. This class considers real-world problems and seeks equitable solutions through computerized cartographic analysis. PREREQUISITE: A working knowledge of basic computer operating skills is assumed. CIS 110 or equivalent is strongly recommended. | |||||||
