Why Should You Care...
- ...About how we educate you or your children?
- ...About how we spend your tax dollars?
- ...About MCC’s role in your community?
MAP – a new MCC Community Engagement Project – is a way for you (and for other community members like you) to have your voice heard.
What is Community Engagement?
Think of it as two-way communication, a dialogue or an exchange of ideas- we’ll share information with you, but we also want you to share your thoughts.
Attend one of a variety of MAP Community Engagement Sessions that will give you more information about what the College provides, what challenges we face and how we’re charting a course toward the future success of MCC and its students. And you won’t just hear a bunch of talking heads—you’ll be asked to actively participate! Here’s what a typical MAP session will look like:
- 30-minute presentation on session topic
- Interactive work activity in small groups
- Small group report out
How Will We Use Your Feedback?
Simple—your feedback will contribute to the development of the College’s new Strategic Plan, which will help dictate the future direction of MCC. And what better reason to care than that?
Session Topics Will Include:
- How will MCC enhance community engagement in order to better understand and respond to local educational, social, cultural, and economic needs?
- How will MCC encourage a holistic focus on students as learners, including understanding and addressing the changing expectations of higher education, remaining current in our use of technology and enhancing student engagement?
- How will MCC further promote an inclusive, supportive learning environment that models and fosters the values of care, civility, respect, and collaboration?
- How will MCC proactively embrace the diversity within our communities?
- How will MCC effectively utilize resources to continue offering and expanding its programs and services while maintaining a commitment to affordability and accessibility?
- How will MCC continue to build and strengthen collaborative relationships?
