Student-Athlete of the Month - December 2015
Congratulations to Carmisha Chavers earning the MCC Student-Athlete of the Month honor for December. The Bradley-Bourbonnais High School graduate is a returning 5’6 sophomore on our women’s basketball team.
Carmisha is the point guard for the 6-4 Scots. The team is currently ranked #3 in Region IV. She is averaging 9.5 ppg, 3 steals/g and 3 assists/g.
"It has been incredibly gratifying to see Mish grow as a player, student and person the past two years. She has taken on a leadership role for our team at the point guard position. With quiet confidence she has helped our team perform at a high level. It is a great deal of responsibility, and she has accepted it with a new level of maturity and commitment. She has continued to be an excellent student as well and is on track to earn Academic All-Conference honors again as a sophomore. She also finds time to be a student-worker with MCC Student Services. I am proud of all she has accomplished and have no doubt she will continue to be a focused, determined, young woman. Mish is an awesome example of our quality MCC student-athletes," lauds Head Coach and Director of Athletics, Karen Wiley.
