Student Athlete of the Month - January 2015
Destiny Nash - Student Athlete of the Month - January 2015
Congratulations to Destiny Nash earning the MCC Student-Athlete of the Month honor for January. The Bolingbrook HS graduate is a freshman on our Women’s Basketball Team.
Destiny is a 5’3” starting point guard for the Scots. She's averaging two assists a game, helping the team to a 7-11 start. She plays an important role on the team as the point guard, leading fast breaks and team offense.
Head Coach Karen Wiley states, “Destiny has made great improvements on the court for our team. Her endurance, focus and energy improves with each and every game. She is a competitor who will not back down from anyone. We need her to be a leader on the floor and off. She has managed to juggle a busy athletic schedule with her academic load, earning a high GPA in her first semester as a college student. I am very proud of her and the way she represents our team and program.”
Academically, Destiny has adjusted well to college with exemplary grades and good reports from instructors. She consistently completes her required study hall hours. “I believe Destiny is well on her way to earning MCC Academic Athletic Honors this year. She has made a great transition to college, juggling academics and athletics demands. Destiny has a bright future, and we are thrilled we can be part of it,” adds Athletic Director Karen Wiley.
