Graduation Requirements
Did you know that…
- You need a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (“C” average) in all MCC coursework to graduate from MCC. (see also graduation requirements and procedures)
- You need to take CIS 110 or receive credit through a proficiency exam
- Fifteen of your sixty credit hours must be earned at MCC
- No single course may be used to meet more than one requirement for graduation
- If you didn't graduate from an Illinois high school or didn't take or pass the Illinois/U.S. Constitution test given in high school, you must meet the requirement in order to graduate by doing one of the following:
- Successfully complete PLT 151 or
- Successfully complete PLT 155 or
- Take and pass the Illinois/U.S. Constitution test in the Testing Center
- You must take the General Education Assessment Test (ETS) in the Testing Center prior to graduation. (Beginning January 2005)
- You must be enrolled in credit coursework at MCC during the semester in which you want to graduate
- You must fill out the Application for Graduation and submit it to Registration with your $20 fee
Degrees
Did you know that…
- There are five (5) transferable
associate degrees to
choose from at MCC which include: Associate in Science, Associate
in Arts, Associate in Fine Arts – Art option, Associate
in Fine Arts – Music option, Associate in Engineering Science
- There are two (2)-year degrees and short term certificates that provide students the skills and education required for immediate entrance into the job market without requiring transfer to a four (4)-year school
- There's a difference between the Associate in Science degree and the Associate in Applied Science degree
- You need to take two (2) college level math classes to earn an Associate in Science
- You need to take through the fourth semester (252) of a single foreign language at MCC to earn an Associate in Arts
- Taking four years of the same foreign language in high
school will NOT meet the foreign language requirement for the
Associate in Arts (effective Fall 2005)
