Permanent Art Collection

The permanent art collection includes works which have been purchased from gallery artists, current MCC students and alumni by the college and the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation. Works donated to the Foundation also become part of the permanent collection. The collection is constantly growing and evolving with continued additions of new acquisitions and donations.

Portrait in Print Collection

The Portrait in Print Collection features more than two hundred and fifty fine art limited edition prints including examples of etching, intaglio, woodcut, lithography and serigraphy. Works by Picasso, Warhol, Matisse, Chagall, Baskin, Man Ray and Francis Bacon are included in this outstanding collection. The portrait subjects include such diverse figures as Martin Luther King, Madame Marie Curie, Leo Tolstoy, Gertrude Stein, Mick Jagger, Emiliano Zapata and Crazy Horse. The Portrait in Print Collection was donated to Friends of MCC Foundation by Mary and Charles Liebman and is on permanent exhibition in the library and boardroom.
