I was born in Virginia but grew up in San Diego, California. There I graduated with an Associates of Arts degree in Transfer Studies from Southwestern Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from The University of San Diego (Go Toreros!). In 2006, I completed my Master of Arts degree in Art Education from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
My areas of interest in art history are gender studies and religion particularly as they relate to art of ancient societies. I also have a passion for all things pop culture. As bell hooks would say, “The function of art is to do more than just tell it like it is - it's to imagine what is possible." - Outlaw Culture: Resisting Representation
I teach Art History.
