Sandra Lang is the MCC Art Gallery Curator, overseeing gallery exhibits, the Permanent Art Collection, the Portrait in Print Collection, donation and acquisition of art works and installation of the collection throughout the campus. She and her family lived in Chicago before moving to McHenry County, where she is an active supporter and participant in community arts organizations and events in partnership with her MCC curator role. Lang received a BFA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and an MFA degree from the University of Notre Dame and has continued professional development in the area of museum studies, collection management and art studio courses. Lang has received national, local and institutional grants focused on condition assessment and conservation of the Portrait in Print Collection and development of a long-term strategy for its preservation. Her individual art studio practice includes mixed media sculpture, metals, drawing and recent experimentation with constructed photographs.
