Steve Rankins

2013 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient


Steve has been at First Midwest Bank since 1998, starting as a Business Banker and progressing to his current role of Division Manager.  He manages the Middle-Market commercial/industrial lending and treasury management team in McHenry and Kane County, accounting for $300,000,000 in commercial/industrial loans and $140,000,000 in deposits.  His goal is to help his team perform sales activities to develop new relationships as well as monitoring, administration and maintenance of the existing portfolio.  First Midwest Bank is a regional bank with 105 offices, most of which are located in the Chicago suburbs and NW Indiana. 

Steve’s community involvement includes: Member of the Centegra Health System Foundation Board of Directors, Member of the McHenry District 156 Superintendent Advisory Council, and Member of the McHenry District 156 Boosters Club’s Executive Committee and Committee Member of the MCC Golf Invitational Planning Committee. Steve currently lives in McHenry with wife, Jennifer and their son, Andrew and daughter, Sarah.  He has lived in McHenry County his whole life, growing up in Woodstock and moving to McHenry in 2000.

Steve received his Associate of Science Degree from McHenry County College, Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University and MBA from Webster University.
