Health, Wellness and Athletic Complex Benefits to Athletics Department

As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of McHenry County College we have an opportunity to achieve another milestone, the approval and construction of a Health, Wellness and Athletic Complex. This public/private partnership is creative, meaningful and well-planned- for with long-term benefits to multiple populations.

MCC athletes will be able to practice at times conducive to their busy academic, athletic, employment and travel schedules. HWAC will provide appropriate training spaces, locker facilities, an athletic training room and equipment, while also accommodating classes and the community.

The facilities will benefit athletic recruiting which will lead to more competitive teams as student-athletes choose MCC as their collegiate destination of choice.

The conditioning, off-season and injury prevention programs for all athletes will be greatly enhanced by the state-of-the-art fitness center. Classrooms in the building will support our departmental direction toward an enhanced student-athlete academic success program. Year-round and seasonal jobs will be created for staff, students, athletes and community members.

The Health, Wellness and Athletic Complex will be a source of great pride to our college, alumni and the community. It will be a focal gathering place for activities ranging from athletics, intramurals and youth camps to a general participation, spectator, entertainment and community-service destination. This complex will bring county-wide prestige and revenues.

The athletic department is enthusiastic in its support of a much-needed Health, Wellness and Athletic Complex, a facility for the 21st century, that will serve all populations for generations to come.

Thank you. Wally Reynolds – Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation
