African American History Month Essay Contest

The essay contest is open students in grades 4 through college who reside within McHenry County.
One winner will be selected from each of the following categories:

About the Topic

Essays should address the following topic: What Strategies from the Civil Rights Movement Can We Employ Today To Counteract Injustices?

Prizes

One winner will be chosen from each category and a monetary award given to this winner

Winners will be announced and must recite their essays at the Legacy Celebration, which will be held in the MCC Conference Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m., February 25, 2010.

The Legacy Celebration will include musical performances and closing remarks by members of the Trinity Baptist Community Church. Prizes will be awarded at this event.
