A course which includes study and discussion of great plays and playwrights as well as the practical aspects of theatre. Students will examine acting, directing, playwrighting, and design as an art form and work to produce an original piece of theatre.
This course is designed to aid the individual development of the actor. Following the principles of the Sanford Meisner method of acting, students will immerse themselves in theatre games, monologues and scene work. This course is designed to assist the student in building self confidence and presentation skills. No experience is necessary.
A continuation of Acting I where the student will delve deeper into the Sanford Meisner method of acting with building of characters, exercises and scene work.
A course which will provide the student with the basics of technical design including, scenic, costume and lighting design.
Course credit can be earned for working in the theatre and in productions.
