Registration: An alphabetic list of departments will appear. To register for a course, first scroll down or click on the first letter of the department name offering it. Alternately, you may type the three-letter department abbreviation in the Dept box and click on the Search button. You may also enter the three-digit course number in the Course box, if you know it. Next, click on the name of the department. After doing so, a list of course sections for that department will appear. Up to six sections will appear at a time, in ascending order. If the section you want does not appear, click on the View more results link to view more sections. This link will not appear when the last available section has been displayed. If you click on the link by mistake, you cannot use the Back button to view the previous screen; you must click on the Registration link at the top of the page and begin again with the sections for that department. |

When the section for which you wish to register appears, click on the black plus symbol at the left of the line on which it appears. A small window will appear, asking “Are you sure you want to ADD this course.” If you have made the correct choice, click the Yes button. If not, click the Cancel button. The first time you register for a course each semester, a confirmation screen will appear. Please verify that the Program of Study, Area of Interest, Reason for Attending MCC, and Residence Status are correct before proceeding. If any of the information is wrong, please do not continue registering; click on the logout button and contact the Registration office at the number given. If the information is correct, then click on the Continue button. The message, “The course you selected has been added to your schedule,” should appear. The new course has now been added to your schedule. Your current course schedule will then automatically appear. Click on the View Weekly Schedule link at the top of this screen to view a calendar with your courses blocked out. Click on any of the navigation links at the top of the page to exit the calendar. If a course already on your schedule has a time conflict with the course you select, the message, “I am sorry, you are unable to register for the selected course because of a time conflict with another course in your schedule.” will appear. The new course has not been added to your schedule. You must first drop the conflicting course if you wish to register for the new course. View your schedule by clicking the My Schedule link at the top of the page and click on the black minus symbol to the left of the conflicting course. If you do not wish to drop the conflicting course, click on one of the navigation links to exit the screen. If you have not met the course prerequisites, the message, “I am sorry, the course you have selected has a pre-requisite which you have not met. Please check the College Catalog for a listing of the pre-requisites required. You may not have completed a required course, or may not have received a high enough grade in a required course, or there may be a required course you must take during the same semester, or you may need permission of the instructor to enroll in the course and the permission form has not been recorded in your records. The follow is a list of the deficiencies currently found.” will appear. It will be followed by one or more courses that are prerequisites for the course you selected. You cannot register for the course at this time. Click on the Registration link to select a new course section. If you are already registered for the section you select, the message, “You are already registered for the course you have selected.” will appear. Click on the Registration link to select a new course section. You may now register for other courses by clicking on the Registration link, or exit the system by clicking on the Logout link. Always click on the Logout link to finish a registration session. Click on any of the links at the top of the screen to exit. |
