I don’t live in the McHenry County College district # 528. Can I still apply to the Rock Valley Practical Nursing program at McHenry County College?
No. The contractual agreement between the two colleges stipulates that students residing in McHenry County College (MCC) will be given first consideration. If there are not enough qualified MCC students for the Practical Nursing program, then students on Rock Valley College’s alternate list for the Practical Nursing program will be eligible to enroll at MCC.
What criteria are used for admission?
When can I apply?
Students are admitted only once a year, beginning in the fall semester. Applications for the Practical Nursing program are due April 15. Students planning on applying to the Practical Nursing program must first apply to Rock Valley College; it is recommended that the college application and all transcripts arrive in the admissions office no later than February 1.
How do I register for classes?
This is a limited enrollment program. Once accepted into the program, applicants will be notified about registration.
How much does the course cost?
According to the most current estimates, the approximate cost for all courses, fees, books, supplies, uniforms, professional liability insurance, medical insurance, criminal background check, NCLEX-PN licensure exam, and CPR certification classes should total less than $6,000.
